Tenebris Falls

Modern day. Modern time. Tenebris Falls, an island off the coast of North America, was granted to creatures of Myth as a way to keep them out of the mainland, out of others' hair. Humans were not ready, would never be ready to suddenly realize they were not alone in the world, and until that unlikely time came there needed to be separation. Tenebris Falls for that reason tends to be aside from human politics and prefers its own; that surrounding the four counselors that govern it, posted from the peoples of each of the four pillars of creation. While they might work with the rest of the world to ensure safety of humanity, fair trade as well as respects to global laws as put forwards by the other countries, Tenebris Falls itself has no interest in getting truly involved with said struggles- getting involved would mean war, and war would be terrible for everyone.

Tenebris Falls is split into two halves, one where supernaturals have a say, and one in which no one does. There are those that suffer certain afflictions where times of feral violence are required, and so have been given the forested outer reaches of the isle for these specific reasons. Within the city, humans are protected and there exist laws to say where, when, how someone might be protected, or allowed to feed on things a human might consider distasteful. Out in the Forest, there is none of this protection save what someone brings with themselves. To this effect, many crimes that might be committed within the City are punishable by simple banishment- most feel that those who would abuse the comforts of civilisation are most quickly reformed by the removal of those comforts. To those not immediately ready to defend themselves, banishment can quickly become a much more final punishment.
